Since the caustic soda needs to be washed out of the finished biodiesel wouldn't there be residual caustic soda in the biodiesel? Wouldn't that hurt the vehicles?

Caustic soda in Vehicles

Caustic soda in your fuel system would be disastrous. Caustic is corrosive, especially to aluminium and aluminium alloys. It is very important to wash caustic chemicals out of your biodiesel properly before using it.
