If you want to make a hard soap you should use NaOH in your process, if you want a liquid soap you should use KOH.

Adding the glycerine back into the oil will do two things:

1) It will absorb any water in the oil, thus drying it (this is good)
2) It will reduce the FFA content of the oil(this is also good)

The glycerine will settle out at the bottom of the oil and should be removed before titrating and processing the batch.
